Proforma vs Tax Invoice
- Proforma = pre-sale document. Used for budget approval, advance payment, exports, tendering. Buyer cannot claim ITC.
- Tax Invoice = post-sale document. Issued when supply happens. ITC-eligible for GST-registered buyers.
- Once buyer accepts proforma + makes payment, you must issue a regular tax invoice for the actual supply.
